Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born on March 26, 1991 also known professionally under the other name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the first female artist to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. Her first EP, Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released by Dreamville Records. She began to gain fame. Her first album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music onto the internet back in 2012 after she dropped her first mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued to post her music on the internet, including her independent single Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes, on Sweat It Out July 21st, 2015. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to use it with Rihanna. The announcement of her decision to be signed by Dreamville Records was made on the 8th of December. Backseat is a track that she performed together with Cozz on The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. On October 21, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released titled Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance to J. Cole on his song Change in 2017 and also appeared on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, she was able to appear on two songs with her labelmates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first track Whipped Cream from Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. The music video was followed by a video in September. On November 9 she released two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Then, in November 2013, she dropped No One as well as Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released in her debut single February 26, 2019, for the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared alongside Cole on The Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. This track, which was made available with a video posted on YouTube February 20, 2019 has been viewed over 3 million times in the first seven days. In December 2018 she was performing as a support act on From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
